Meet Xavier Taylor, one of NZSE’s bright minded alumni. He is one of our many graduates at NZSE, fresh out of the classroom with a Certificate in IT Essentials Level 4 under his belt.

Beginning the programme with NZSE in June 2018, Xavier initially found it difficult when it came to learning, especially having to keep on track in the classroom.

“Other education providers couldn’t cater to my learning needs. I struggled to concentrate in certain areas and found it hard to maintain interest when learning.”

However, he quickly found himself settled into NZSE before he knew it.

Xavier first found motivation to keep coming to class in the typical student fashion, saying, “Credits is the first thing that comes to mind.”

“To complete the programme for the satisfaction of achieving something is my main driving force that kept me coming into class every day.”

Xavier says the learning style at NZSE was great.

“It was great! It was very hands-on and intuitive; all the learning support was there for me when I needed it.”

Xavier says he is very grateful for the time and effort the NZSE tutors put into help him with his learning:

“The tutors here are so nice and were more than willing to help me learn when I needed it, by making the content very easy to follow and understand.

“A key mention to my tutor Rajesh Ampani. He helped me every step of the way and was willing to sacrifice his time to ensure that what was being taught stuck with the class.”

He was also surprised by the student support available for his use at NZSE.

“The support here is amazing. Everyone is willing to help you; they are serious about helping you with your learning!

Xavier says he is especially grateful that NZSE accommodated for his youth worker to come along to every class.

“It definitely helped with creating a flexible learning environment, I can’t imagine even finishing the course without support from my youth worker.”

Xavier leaves the doors of NZSE with a heartfelt goodbye to those that have given him the strength and tools to push himself in future, with bright eyes and a new focus on his future. He is thankful for all the support the team at NZSE has given him:

“NZSE has done an amazing job to prepare me for my future career. Without their support I wouldn’t even be here today. They helped me set goals for myself in a way that made them attainable yet satisfactory, which helped me set up for my next steps in life.”
